There was a paused, before Draco opened the door. He was a little surprised to see Remus bringing up breakfast. It was the last thing he was expecting.

"Oh...thank you," Draco replied and went to relieve Remus of the tray. He was a bit embarrassed by this as he didn't mean for Remus to go out of his way. Now that the food was before him, he realized that he was hungry and reached over to grab some of the toast and bite into it.

"Meeting?" This bit of news caught him off guard. This day was certainly a day full of surprises.

"Remember?" He moved to sit on the edge of the bed. "I told you we would be going by the Ministry. I have someone who I think can help you out and confirm you. With him behind you, most would think differently. Besides, I think he can help you figure Out a possible future career, if you want one."

...Right now he remembered...but he hadn't expected that to be right away either. "Who is this person?" He asked and gave an embarrassed smile.

"I think it'll be easier if you meet him when we get there." Because he had a feeling Draco would panic if he knew before hand.

"Eat up and enjoy yourself today. You can use a Locator spell if need be to make sure you know how to get back." He gave a nod before he stood up, making a face as his back cracked. Too old...

He gave a nod, but couldn't hide his concern for Remus. Not that he could do anything for him...at least now. "I'll make sure to be here by 1:30..."

As for enjoying the day...he doubted that. His first time back in society after months of hiding...was going to be a challenge. He was thankful that the one sweater he had had a hood, that he could hide under if need be.

Draco managed to eat some of the breakfast not all of it. Warily, he brought the tray down with him and tried to brace himself for his outing with Tonks.

But Draco would be in for a surprise. Tonks would be waiting for him downstairs, looking very much like a Muggle in her clothing minus the tee shirt she wore was for the Weird Sisters. She smirked on seeing him, but it wasn't a cruel smirk. More amused.

"So you want to check out the area? Go ahead. You don't need me to be a babysitter - just don't let Remus know I let you go off alone."

Draco kept his face impassive, but quietly studied her looking for key features that would remain. He knew she could change her features and noted the Weird Sisters shirt.

He had a set of dress pants on and a hooded sweater he wore over the long sleeve shirt he had. He had also wrapped up the Death Eater mark on his arm just in case. He refused to take off his family ring.

True he could use a locator spell to find the house...but she was probably expecting that of him. Giving her a curt nod, he went ahead and stepped outside.

If it had been Remus he may have been more comfortable and willing to ask questions...but with Tonks he knew he was being judged on everything. He wasn't sure what to expect from her that she would accept. He would figure out things on his own.

Once outside, he found his heart pounding a little as he tried to take in his surroundings wanting to remember every detail he could.

As a Metamorphmagus, she could change her entire face to look like something else all together. There was a reason she had passed Disguise like no other Auror before her. She merely nodded when he left, and waited for a bit. He was right to be wary, to a degree.

The area was in a small town or city, urban. They hadn't picked a particularly rural or suburban area like most wizards, strangely. They had a small front yard - simple, easy to keep. There were houses up the street, what seemed like shops down the street, with cars passing by.

A couple of people a little older than Draco were walking by. The style of their clothing seemed odd for Muggles, almost more like wizards, but tighter and the earbuds in their ears suggested non-wizards.

He wasn't too sure if he liked that this was an urban area. It was a little much for him. He was so used to the rural areas that he lived in.

Watching the cars drive by unnerved him a bit. He was familiar with them and the out outrageous story about the flying Ford that Harry and Ron drove. His family never messed with the muggle form of transportation. Their pride had forbid it.

He kept to the sidewalks and did his best to keep to himself not wanting to draw attention to him. He did find the manner that the way the Muggles dressed strange...but Muggles were peculiar anyway.

He could understand though why Tonks picked this area to live in...their style seemed to match her wild style. And why his formal wear would not be accepted...

At the same time Draco kept an eye out for Tonks, unsure of where she would show. He felt like he was already failing in this test of hers.

The type of area it certainly didn't seem like was Remus'. In fact it hardly seemed like the older wizard would be happy here, but he had seemed happy and mostly relaxed in his own home. Then again, he had mentioned there were charms and the like on the house. Something was being done to make it easier for them as a family.

Towards the shops, the amount of Muggles picked up. A happening little town, it seemed. The delicious scent of a bakery, a book shop, a restaurant, a little soap making business, a small grocery... Quaint.

This is where Draco found himself having a hard time. He wasn't prepared for all the commotion to set off his stress and paranoia. It didn't show on his face, but his emotions were in a turmoil inside. Yet, at the same time he was quite excited by it. It had been too long since he was out among people.

He had a feeling he was going to end up having to transfer the money his father gave him into Muggle money later on. He wasn't too keen on the idea...but he doubted no where here would take wizard money.

He didn't go into any of the shops and just glanced at them as he walked by. He watched as various couples walked by him, groups of friends, or families simply enjoying the day out.

Draco began to wonder...outside of magic what the difference was between the two of them. What was it that caused pureblooded families like his to look so down on them. His family had always been careful to keep him away from any Muggle influence and this had been quite an eye opener for him.

Other than the mode of dress and the technology, it might not seem all that different. Groups of school children laughing together, couples holding hands, old, young, buying things and just living their lives. True, Draco would spot then taking photos of one another, ones that didn't move, but he also might spot a young girl taking a video as well. People chatting on phones. Someone talking about 'the Internet'.

As he walked by, a man about his age walking by would nearly lose his drink when his dog pulled hard and went up to Draco, tail wagging and looking curious. "Lucky! Hey!" As he juggled the leash and drink.

So much for going by unnoticed. He gave a small smile as the dog struggled to approach him despite his master's wishes.

"Sorry about that...I didn't mean to cause any problems for you," Draco found himself saying. He was a little surprised with himself for even apologizing especially to a Muggle. But the dog's owner almost lost his drink and the dog.

As he was talking he held out his hand allowing the dog to sniff it. He realized as well how much he missed the dogs that his family used to have.

"Don't worry about it," the Muggle said easily, giving a bit of a laugh. "Lucky just likes people, but I never saw him go for one person so fast. Must be a dog-person, Huh?"

Lucky, meanwhile, was sniffing Draco's offered hand, then licked it before nosing at the long fingers, hoping for a scratch while his tag wagged furiously.

Draco gave a nod. "One could say that. I used to have two Irish wolf hounds."

Sensing that the Lucky was okay with him, Draco went ahead and gave his head a scratch behind the ears. He felt himself relaxing a little, kind of glad that the dog was there.

"Those huge dogs?? Cool." Lucky was clearly some sort of mix, but a handsome one of medium sized. He leaned into the scratching and looked so happy to be getting it. "I picked up Lucky from the shelter here in town. Couldn't say no to that face."

The Muggle looked Draco over once and lifted a brow. "From around here? Haven't seen you around."

He gave a nod in answer about the dogs. "Is that why you named him Lucky?"

Was it that apparent he wasn't from here? Grudgingly he knew that Tonks had won the clothing argument.

"No, here visiting for a while. I'm from Wiltshire."

More like a combination of accent and clothing, but close enough. The Muggle looked impressed. "All the way from there? Here on vacation or did your family move in?" He took a sip of his iced drink while Lucky was slowly leaning more of his weight into Draco.

"Just on vacation. I'm visiting some friends of my family."

It was close enough to the truth. He noted that Lucky seemed to be favoring him and continued to pet the dog as they talked.

"I guess it's safe to say I know nothing about this area and was simply exploring it today."

"Ahh! Explains why you'd be around here." His smile was easy, friendly, and he looked utterly relaxed about talking to a stranger. That kind of person - the kind Draco knew few if any of. "Well, if you're exploring..." The Muggle looked around, then his smile towards Draco grew before offering his hand. "Nice to meet you. Name's Jake, and you are?"

He couldn't help but find the Muggle interesting. He was different...laid back and had an open personality about him. This was new for Draco as he was always taught to be more reserved and guarded...careful with who you associated with. He was breaking so many rules today.

And he enjoyed it...breaking from this mold his parents tried had enforced on him since day one. It seemed rather easy to talk with him...and Draco had a hard time trying to decide what was okay to say and not. Hesitantly he held out his hand as well and shook Jake's hand. He wasn't one to shake hands with anyone and the fact that he shook Jake's hand was a gesture to show that he was trying to change.

"Er...the name's Draco..." he responded with a sheepish grin. He knew his name had to stand out as even in the wizarding world people always gave odd reactions to his name. "My mother has a big thing with constellations..."

The sheepishness and the explanation got a laugh out of Jake, giving Draco's hand a firm shake without being crushing or too weak. "I was just about to ask if you had hippie parents or they were really into that old movie Dragonheart." Having fun with it without being teasing, he held the grip for a second longer before letting go. "Constellation is pretty cool, though. Better name than Jake." That grin again.

Lucky finally stopped leaning so hard into Draco and was sniffing at the sidewalk curiously, but Jake's attention was on Draco. "What sort of scene you into?"

Draco's handshake was pretty firm, noting that Jake was trying to not appear to imposing or weak with it. He hid the confusion about the movie as he had no clue what one was...he had heard other students mentioning movies from time to time...but that seemed to be very Muggle and the way Jake was talking about it concluded it. He took no offense to the teasing.

Quickly, he glanced at his watch to see how much time he had left, with out trying to be rude. He certainly wasn't trying to cut Jake off, he was actually enjoying himself. He knew he couldn't afford to miss the meeting Remus had set up for him. He made a face realizing that not a lot of time was left.

"I'll simply go with what you have to suggest." Draco answered. "Only I can't hang around too much longer, I have a meeting to attend to that I can't afford to miss."

"Sorry to hear it," Jake said with that sort of tone that suggested he meant it. He gave a bit of a shrug before he looked back, giving a little nudge on the lease to get his dog's attention. "Don't want to keep you. If you're the type who likes to have some fun though, there's not too much to do around here, but we're having a party tonight. Why don't you come over? Welcome you to the neighborhood, even if it's only temporary."

Dark eyes glinted as he laughed. "Unless you'd rather stick with the family."

Draco was a little surprised by the invitation, only he kept his reaction with an impassive expression. He was trying hard to read into it, unsure of what to make of it. It certainly felt like a sincere invitation. As much as Draco wanted to trust Jake, he didn't want to blindly trust him either.

The thought to be among other people his age...even if they were Muggle was tempting. Then there was the fact he hadn't been to a party before...at least none that weren't formal. Nor, did he want to sound needy and desperate.

"And where do I meet if I decide to attend?" Draco replied.
