"You're better off then me. I'm just learning and not exactly great at it," Draco admitted. He paused a bit trying to figure out how to explain the next part. Using gasoline wouldn't be too far of a stretch, and truthfully he wished his parents would use it.

"We might not do electricity...but we do use gasoline. That's usually used for cooking and to help heat up the place."

"Maybe next time I can try to cook something up and you can learn?" Jake offered with a smile, "but it comes at the cost of finally getting to meet your relatives." His tone joked, but his expression said Draco didn't have to if he didn't want to.

"Gas, hmm? I guess that makes sense. As much as it all makes sense." He didn't want to push too hard, given the fact Draco clearly wasn't easy talking about it.

"I wouldn't mind that. We still need to arrange for you to meet them," Draco pointed out. He felt comfortable with the Lupins meeting them. It would be his parents that would be difficult.

He gave a weak smile finding the simple conversation of cooking awkward. It seemed to be a running theme. He wanted to desperately tell Jake everything. But he knew he was in trouble with his community and simply telling him would get him into more. He only hoped that maybe Jake would put the two together and approach it in a way where he couldn't lie or make excuses. Jake had come close on a few times.

Close, but still so far away. Without something to tie the two thoughts together, they couldn't make contact. The Wizards had put too much work into making sure Muggles didn't really believe in them. That magic wasn't real and it was all fantasy. Some came close to the truth than they knew, like Jake, but they didn't cross into it.

"Pick a time and date or two, but let me know a head of time. I'll do my best to make sure above all else that I have off work and am awake." He smiled at that. "I know most people aren't the night owls I am." Thought Remus was.

"Alright, I will talk with them today and see what they have to say. I know Remus is more of a night person, Tonks is too-but with Teddy not so much. We can probably arrange something in the evening," Draco said as he thought about it.

The problem would be trying to get everybody on the same page. He only hoped that Jake wouldn't ask too many questions. Draco did his best trying to keep his stories as true to the actual thinf. Only he never really asked Remus what stories they used.

More people with odd names. Maybe this Remus and Tonks had been part of this... religion? cult? that Draco and his parents belonged to before breaking away? It really got Jake thinking, but he wasn't so sure if he should ask, so he kept those thoughts to himself.

Jake turned his gaze up to the clear sky, a rare thing, and smiled. "You know, it hasn't been long but... you've made life much more exciting since you came into it. Maybe that's the best part of having a new friend." He glanced over, hands in his pockets, as they walked towards the more populated business area of the city. A long walk, but the restaurant he was thinking of was near the same small store they bought their camping supplies at before.

"It's been quite some time since I made an effort to get to know someone new...but I'm glad that I did." Draco replied with a grin. "You really put things into different perspectives that have me thinking a lot."

Jake had signal handling turned Draco's world upside down with in the first meeting. It had really forced Draco to realize how much of his life was so old fashioned and not exactly correct. It was hard sorting out things and let go what he had been taught.

"I'm glad you had the courage," Jake said with a quiet honestly, looking to Draco's eyes for a moment. "You've got a lot of it, doing all this. It's scary, going against them and having to find your own way. So... yeah. I'm glad." His hand purposefully brushed Draco's, just for a moment.

Jake had no idea that meeting Draco would change his life even more so, someday.

"Have you thought any more about our trip to London?" Jake asked curiously, getting off the heavier tone.

He wasn't so sure if it was courage or not. He was more afraid then anything. Fear always wrapped around his life and what he did. He hoped someday he would be less afraid. But Jake was helping with that. "You help give me a lot of the strength I need," Draco replied in a soft tone looking up at Jake, noticing the brush of his hand and tentatively held his hand as he made the comment.

"A little, my mind has been more focused on the camping trip." Draco admitted.

It put a little flutter through Jake as they held hands, his thumb rubbing over Draco's knuckles, but he only squeezed and let go. He knew Draco was worried about being spotted, so he gave a warm smile to make up for it. "I've lived through something similar... I know what it's like. If I can give you the strength for it, that's one thing, but you're still doing it, too." And he'd be there. It hadn't been long, but maybe it was the similar circumstances of their 'leavings', the pain he saw in Draco's eyes at times, but he'd fallen harder than he'd expected.

"Well that is a lot sooner. Maybe given your upbringing, you'll actually be better than all of us at camping. Also, I really hope you like hotdogs.. it's probably the easiest thing we've learned to manage over the fire. Stick it on a stick, stick it in the fire." He chuckled.

He gave a nod grateful for Jake's constant support. The later comment earned a laugh even if it was at his expense. "At least I can make a fire with out having to look it up," he jested remembering their earlier comment.

"I'll admit I never had a hot dog till I was with you guys." He found them weird, but he didn't complain. It was food and the Lupins had been introducing him to all sorts of meals he never heard of.

"Ouch!" But Jake laughed at the return teasing, knowing he deserved it. "Man, we'll never live it down. A bunch of city kids trying to make fire? Who knew it'd be so difficult!" He grinned, brushing some hair back.

"Well... man, hot dogs and smores and we manage some breakfast food. We're not going for long or anything, but we do our best to feed ourselves. Lucy is probably the best out of all of us at managing the food situation."

Draco couldn't help but give a triumphant grin.

"Well, if you're thinking on what you can cook "over the fire...just look for various foods you can easily spear. It doesn't have to just be hot dogs. And if you can get a proper pot to put over the fire you can probably due stews and soups." Draco replied after giving it some thought. Only there was a confused expression at the mention of a smore. "What are smores?"

"How much stuff would we have to bring to make a stew? We'll be out in the middle of no where!" Jake laughs, but he does look interested in the idea. "Alright, then, I'm dragging you to the grocers and you can decide on what we'll bring. Deal? You can laugh as we mess this all up." Because now he was convinced Draco would out do them all on cooking over the fire.

But hold up, he didn't know what a smore was?! Jake blinked before he held up his hands, miming layering things. "You take a graham cracker and snap it in half, then you toast a marshmallow and put it and a half a chocolate bar between the cracker halves to form a delicious melty sandwich."

"Depends. You need to make sure it doesn't spoil either," Draco pointed out. He gave a nod in agreement. He's been with his mother to pick up food for the house a few times. But he had a feeling it was different shopping at the muggle grocers.

"We never did anything like that." Draco explained. He raised an eyebrow at the description of the smores. It sounded very messy.

"We can put things in tupperwares and what not to keep them from spoiling," Jake said without concern. "We'll go right before we leave, so it isn't too big of a deal."

He grinned for a moment. "I don't know how you've never tried a smore, but you'll love them. Toasting marshmallows is my favorite bit." They came to a stop at a traffic light, bouncing a bit on his heels despite the time of day it was for him.

"It sounds extremely messy," Draco replied. It seemed very Muggle like and probably why his family or friends never had them. "And I'm betting that's part of why you enjoy it."

He had to admit though that he was rather excited to try them and just the camping experience alone. He suspected that there would be a lot of mistakes in this adventure.

Once in a while, he forgot about Draco's 'somehow ridiculously wealthy' part of his odd family. The fact Draco would consider that messy struck him, making Jake grin even more as he leaned in close. "It sure is. It's not that messy if you're careful, but it can be. It'll just be the six of us - Lucky always comes - out there. No one else to see if you let go for a little while."

He wanted Draco to be excited about it. Sure there might be mistakes, but they had fun despite those in the past.

Right. The ability to let go everything he was taught to be...The idea was extremely tempting. He had never fully let go of who he was with anyone--although Jake was rapidly changing that.

"Is that basically why all of you go?" He asked. Even if didn't fully let go it still would be fun. He still worried if it would catch up with him later.

Jake went quiet on that question for a good solid minute, hands in his pockets, before he said quietly, "I think that's why we originally went. Just to be away from everything, relax, just be ourselves. Be... nothing. Nothing required of us because we trusted each other like that. This time, it's still that, but it's the end of something important. Everyone's going off to University except me. So it's our last chance to really do something together."

He paused, then brought a smile to his face to banish the sad thoughts. "Plan to take a lot of pictures and video."

Draco kept forgetting that the majority of the group was leaving for school, including the possibility that he may be leaving too. He placed a hand briefly on Jake's shoulder. When Jake went on to taking pictures and the video, he got lost.

"What's a video?" He questioned finding the term unfamiliar. He knew what cameras were, they had their own variation.

"Er-" Right, Draco wouldn't know. He thought how to explain it, then finally just came up with, "moving pictures? We can capture a video on our-- oh!" He tugged out his phone and opened up the camera, flipping it around to record them both and leaned in close, hitting record to record them both. "So right now, it's capturing the video on my phone--" He flipped a peace-sign before he hit stop, then stopped walking so he could bring up the video and played it again.

"Ta-da," as he gave himself a peace-sign, "video."

He watched Jake as he showed him what a video was. It didn't look very complicated. He quickly figured out that the television worked in a similar way. He was surprised by how much those phones could do and no magic was involved.

"It's like the television?" He said wanting to make sure he was correct.

He clicked his phone locked and pocketed it. "Pretty similar, just bigger cameras and editing to make it look good. Telly is pretty much all fake, just so you're well aware. Even the stuff they call 'reality TV'. All a lie." He shrugged; clearly Muggles were aware of it.

"I didn't think so," Draco replied, although he knew that quite a few of his people might be gullible enough to believe what was portrayed.

"Those phones can do quite alot of stuff. I can see why you guys rely on them so much."
