Cousins. That meant Narcissa was Tonks' cousin, and therefore both husbands cousins-in-law. Somehow there had to be a terrible irony that he was somehow tied to such old Pure blood.
"I see. Tonks... doesn't speak about her family often." Awkward. "Maybe it might be better if Draco does come here, then."
It seemed to be agreement on Lucius' part, but what about Narcissa? From the arguing? Less than good.
"I will talk with Narcissa later. She will need time to calm down and let everything sink in. She will have to be reassured that she won't be loosing her family," Lucius replied. Hesitantly he tried to eat his meal before him. It was always so hard to eat anymore as everything tasted bland and that what ever food he did manage to eat didn't settle well with his stomach.
"We had always wanted a big family, but were lucky enough to have Draco and even in that itself it was a battle. That is why she is extremely protective. If she were to have it her way Draco would never leave her side."
Dare he even try the rest? Remus' lips thinned, faintly tasting blood at the back of his mouth. "I'm not entirely surprised by her reactions, honestly. The protective mother is one of the most powerful things in existance."
Not about to bring up Potter. Nope.
"...have you thought about your own health?" Going there.
"My health is mine to bare alone. I take full responsibility for what I've done and the consequences that go with it. I refuse to be locked up in St. Mungos," Lucius replied, his face darkening. He tried his best to keep his voice from rising.
"The little pride I have left would be ruined if the Daily Prophet were to find out I was there...and whose to say they would even help me? If anything they would lock me in some room and forget I was there. It might as well be Azkaban all over again."
He pushed his plate of food away no longer hungry.
Oooh this was going to go well. "...what if I said i know someone I think who could help who would come to you, not that you would have to go to Mungo's? Someone who doesn't even know your family name. You would just be a patient. American woman."
Laying it out there but he knew it could be shot down.
"The answer is no. I'm letting you take care of my son and give him the path he needs to grow. That is more then enough." Lucius replied in a firm tone.
With a shaking hand he reached for his tea. At least that much he could handle and he wanted something to calm his nerves. The tea he had made specifically helped with that.
"Very well," Lucius answered. He wasn't planning on accepting help at all when it came to his self.
"You're help has been greatly appreciated. None would have done what you have done. We can supply Draco the money he needs to live with you. You won't have to worry about funding for him."
Remus had, in a small way, been expecting that the Malfoys would offer just that. Given his financial circumstances, it could often be very difficult at their household at times. Tonks pulled in an excellent pay, but they had been managing. Ever since Umbridge had passed that damnedable law back in the 90s that often kept him limited in jobs. It wasn't easy to overturn something that people still thought very necessary, considering how many of the werewolves had backed Him.
"People aren't as blind to helping a young man as much as you might think, Lucius, but we'll see what comes of it." He stood up, wincing as his ribs flared up. "I'll be back at sunset, if you could let Draco know?"
He was already concentrating on home, ready to curl up in bed pretty much until then.
While Lucius wasn't going to say it, he was going to make sure there was a little extra that Draco will give to Remus...for taking him in. He wasn't that rude to not give Remus and his wife some form of payment.
"I will be sure to let him know." Lucius replied and led Remus to the door.
"Thanks." An easy if somewhat awkward smile. "I'll see you all then." He stepped away from the house as not to be rude before he Apparated. All he wanted to do was find his bed. He wouldn't even remember face planting into it, zonking out hard. The pain in his body was just too much, no sleep, minimal food. They could order take out before he left for the Malfoys the next day.
He was actually in better spirits when he arrived the following evening; spending time with Tonks and Teddy (hair a brilliant cyan today) always revived him. So there was a small smile on his lips when he came to the door, knocking lightly. Hopefully hopefully things would go well tonight.

"I am going to head home until evening. I want to get those last three dementors tonight. By then I hope Draco's decided."
