Things seemed better. Melinda was eating with them, though Lucius still sat between the two women just to be sure. Melinda was actually smiling, though always at ease, and let the parents dote over their son. It was good for all three of them, and it let her see the change in Lucius as well. It was actually entertaining to see some of his normal arrogance back. A sign of good things.
